Laboratory designed for data acquisition

Tests performed in a laboratory to determine the mechanical properties of soil are time-consuming and require numerous measurements which are neccessary to be carried out in various intervals.

The automatic data acquisition is recommended to decrease technicians' workload, avoid errors and enable testing during nights, weekends and holidays. For these requirements we offer a specific hardware and software that enables single channel data acquisition to each unit to be networked into a common device called GEOTRONIC.

TS 663/020 Fixed axial distance meter

Load capacity on the arm is 160 kg, which corresponds to 1.8 tons on the sample. The lever arm adjustment is achieved by a threaded pin located on the load bridge.

Consolidation of the material is from 20 to 100 square centimeters. Made of stainless steel or brass, completed with porous disks which can be used for permeability tests .

Calibration weight sets

These calibration weight sets have been calculated to generate the following  forces on the sample:
0,125 - 0,25 - 0,5 - 1 - 2 - 4 - 8 - 16 - a 32 kgf/sq.cm2.

T 665/N Electronic device for direct shear testing

Accurate, quiet, reliable and robust device, designed as a broad-spectrum measuring device for soil testing in a  laboratory. It is equipped with an advanced electromechanical operating device comprising a stepping motor which is completed with a precise reduction unit and a reduced tolerance worm unit. These devices are designed to achieve linear micrometre movements at a constant speed and independently of the forces developed by the reverse drive. Continual drive speed in either direction can be varied by the elektronically controlled unit from 0.00001 to 12 mm/min.
The device is made of stainless steel and chrome-plated metal.

Shear Boxes

Made of smoothed brass. Four standard models are available: 60x60 and 100x100 mm/side and 63.5 and 67.7 mm diameter, supplied with all accessories.

Calibrated weights

Two sets of calibrated weights are available to obtain a pressure which is increased by 0.250, 0.500,1,2,3,4 and 8 kgf/cm2.

T 800 Electronic device for direct shear test on annular specimens

This device is built in a new innovative design that is different from traditional devices in which shear stress is measured by the activity of the arm operating in two testing circles or load cells.

A strain gauge type of a torque meter, which is directly connected onto the rotation axis, is used here.

This solution allows for much greater accuracy and easier placement of the sample.
The vertical loading device operates on the principle of compressed air. A valve allows precise and constant dose. The device is also supplied with a pressure transducer and a strain gauge type of a transducer.


Tri-axial testing device

The load frames are designed for the capacity of 50 or 100 kN. The 50 kN model can be supplied in a 3-part version that enables simultaneous testing of three samples. The triaxial cells are made of PERSPEX and stainless steel and they are tested to withstand a maximal pressure of 1700 kPa. Three models are available to test the samples up to  2", 3", 4 ". The source of constant pressure is of the air/water type with an interface cylinder and bladder designed to supply a pressure regulated from 0 to 100 kPa. If a pressure multiplier is used, the pressure may be doubled. The pessure is supplied by an electric air compressor. A volume change is measured by a twin-chamber of the capacity of 100 cc  in the hydraulic volume change devices. These devices must be completed by a dial gauge or removable electric transducer. The pore pressure is measured by using  pressure transducer in combination with de-airing equipment.
